Yesterday and today we engaged with BrownTrout Publishers to get their catalog file correct. It is frustrating. These files are standard and used by many companies in the card industry now for many years and BrownTrout has produced them on numerous occasions yet each time for them it is new. There is always someone new doing it. Invariably they do about twenty attempts, then give up and then we do the task. It should not be like that as suppliers should have systems now that automate the process and so they should be able to send a catalogue file on demand.
Still it is necessary work as both of us realize as connecting the supplier and retailer through data sharing is now a necessity.
