Fairfax commission rates are going down again. I confess I was stunned when I saw the latest figures as I had been led to believe that this time the margins would be going up slightly. Well it did not, current rates in Victoria are for a full-service newsagent 19.2% Mon-Friday, for a subagent it is 9.6%. For weekends they both get a touch more.
When I was a kid, it was 25% we got for Fairfax products, and that was true since anyone could remember but times have changed.
This is a margin analysis I did in April 2015.
