Survey background.

For almost 40 years, our annual survey has been an essential tool for our business. It helps us identify where we are going and the most critical point our clients need. It helps us make well-informed decisions about improving our software and services to meet our customers' needs better. The survey also allows our customers to influence our products and services. It allows us to understand better what matters most to you.

The initial survey findings

We are still going through your responses, but we thought we would give you a brief snapshot of the initial findings from the survey data.

It confirmed that almost all our clients have a firm grasp of our software. That they consider our software good or better. Software updates are helpful. Support is good. Our staff is professional. Almost all problems are resolved.

Comments about our support are

 "SUPPORT IS ALWAYS WELL RESPONSIVE & VERY EFFICIENT"

"Support is second to none, excellent."

"Excellent from the first phone call through to the solution."

We also had requests that were related to reporting. Based on these findings, we will focus on developing new capabilities and features that address these specific areas.

We also want to experiment more with artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance your productivity and decision-making. This will provide our customers with better insights. What we want to add to many reports is an AI-suggested figure. The next generations of POS Software will be heavy with AI.

Net promoter score (NPS)

NPS is the most used (KPI) market research metric to measure your customers' happiness with you. We were delighted with our score of 57 this year, almost three times what an average IT company gets.

Apologies

Unfortunately, some people left questions for us but did not leave their details, so we cannot contact them. So we apologise for not being able to contact some survey participants who did not leave their details and now request them to contact us.

Conclusion

Again I thank everyone who responded to the survey. We can only improve the software and services we offer to our customers with your help. A new Start: Welcoming the New Year

Let us now take a close look at everything that has happened.

Now is the time to make new resolutions. To start over, to look forward to the new possibilities that lie ahead. We relinquish the past, and any decisions we could have about it are what begins once again.

Here is a checklist:

) Make sure that your goals are realistic and doable so that you can feel a sense of accomplishment as you work towards them. Your future self will not be motivated by stuff that cannot be done.

) If your goals are big, break them up into manageable tasks. 

The bigger the goal, the more it will benefit you to break it down and take smaller steps. Achieve a goal by taking small steps every day. Make sure that you’re not overthinking a task. If it’s too complex for your brain to handle now, then it’s probably too big for your future self to tackle. Instead, find a simple way to accomplish it. Focus on the process, not the result.

) It's essential to make specific targets because it helps you focus your efforts. This helps you track your progress and stay on track. You are writing to your future self; if you do not know precisely what to do now, why should your future self know?

) Write your resolutions in your diary to keep track of your progress. You can see how far you've come and stay motivated if you track.

) It is always a good idea to get some advice. Remember, you do not have to change everything by yourself. Having someone to share my journey with, people in our organisation, our business partners, family and friends helps me stay motivated and on track.  

A year from now, you will wish you had started now.

Have a good New Year's Eve; in Melbourne, we are finally enjoying some good hot summer days. Let us make 2023 a fantastic year!

This further enhances the shopping experience.

Better customer information. 

POS systems can store contact details and sale histories for individual customers. This can help businesses looking to build relationships and personalise with customers. Businesses can use their customer sale history to suggest relevant products in targeted promotions. Plus having contact information on file can make it easier for you to communicate with your customers and resolve any issues that may arise. Our annual support and customer perception survey for 2022

​I love this quote, wise words, wise man.

It is unbelievable that we are almost at the end of 2022. It's been a better year than 2021. It is time for us to start our annual support and customer perception survey for 2022,, which will be going out soon. I am hoping for a good result in 2022. Over the last few years, we have used Net promoter score (NPS) KPI for our business. This is the most popular KPI used by public and private organisations today. You can read about it here. I do recommend that any organisation use this KPI. It is easy to adopt and tells you a lot. Need any help, let me know.

I am hoping for a good score this year; our figures look good so far. Here are our support ratings for the last four (4) months. 0=bad, 8=very good, 9=even better and 10 = perfect

Interestingly no one is in the middle.

So now we will start our annual support survey for this year. This we have done for 39 years to seek feedback from you about the services we provide our community. Your responses will be used to assist us in improving customer service. The survey is designed to measure the effectiveness and quality of our services and will take only a few minutes to complete. Floods are hitting support

POS SOFTWARE

We are now facing one of these one-in-200-year flood events in central Victoria, parts of NSW and Tasmania. This is clogging up support.

Thankfully, most people have paid attention to the recent newsletter we sent out about backups. As long as you have a valid backup, you should be right and do not worry; we have over 40 years gotten very used to flood problems.

If you have an online backup, it is better. In the past, we have had to download an online backup, run many reports in our support office, and then send them back to the affected people. If you have not yet set up our free online backup system, I suggest you do so ASAP.

Interesting, unlike most floods we have faced, the problem today is not water damage but the disruption to the supply lines. Today if a transport company has a problem delivering, they do not try to fix it but move on to the next job and leave the merchant without stock.

Of course, knowing the full extent of the loss will take time.

Software support over the next two days

Our office will be open on skeleton staff. As today is the Queen's National Day of Mourning, support will be done on our after-hours numbers today.

Tomorrow is a Victorian Public holiday, the "Friday before the Grand Final". Help will be as usual. The phones will be diverted to our interstate support bays.

ANZAC Day support

POS SOFTWARE

For over 100 years, “ANZAC Day” has been observed in Australia, becoming our honoured and sacred institution. I can remember, as a kid, going with my dad. He enjoyed meeting up with the guys from his WW2 unit. They fought in the Lae area of New Guinea from Jan 45. I doubt any of them are with us now. 

Here is a famous picture of one such veteran marching that took the internet by storm. No one knows who he is, but we all feel his pain.

 

Our office will be closed, but our after-hours and emergency support will be running non-stop throughout ANZAC Day today. It is available both for urgent and standard calls.

Please do not ring me unless it is urgent as I want the day off with my kid, ring Micahel instead. I will be back on Tuesday.

Price rises ahead

POS SOFTWARE

A while ago, I pointed out that if you were looking to upgrade your POS system shortly the time to buy was now. This was because computers and POS equipment were going up in price. Well, those that listened to me, I am sure, are happy now.

Well we are living in a real-world, and these prices are still going up and with the shortages, we have now are unlikely to come down soon. You know with inflation, once the price goes up, it never comes down. Inflation defies the law of gravity, which says that what goes up must come down. 

Plus, as China showed a few days ago, COVID has not gone away. 37 million there in lockdown.

So we can expect that prices will continue to go up soon so we are hoping that the current hardware costs stay on hold for as long as possible!

So my advice is unchanged: if you are looking to upgrade your POS computer system soon, the time to buy is now.

We are not closing over Christmas

POS SOFTWARE

Christmas is a difficult time for all our clients. There are many risks of something going wrong for them. This is when you need us the most. So we do not close over the period, as a Christmas shutdown has the potential to do more damage than good.

As this festive period isn't limited to the week surrounding Christmas, so we stay open always. We work 24 hours, seven days a week. Our company never sleeps.

Besides, we are as busy now as usual. Currently, support calls are coming in at a regular rate. Only the urgency is now considerably more. Overall there is a lot more work for us. The administrative and engineering staff are working as usual.

I hope our clients are happy knowing they are getting their money's worth with their support contract as they can be confident that we are here if they need us.

Our EOFY Sale 2021

Now we are coming to the end of the fiscal year. Normally there are now some pretty good bargains opening up.

This is because computer wholesalers look at their stock. Then they think to themselves that they would rather get rid of much of it than count it. This is something that many of my clients should be looking about too. The new models will start to roll out soon, and do you want to be left with one-year-old stock?

Also, the computer wholesalers know that consumers are thinking of ways to offset their taxes. On their tax return, there is now an unusually high investment allowance on offer. Plus, this year, many have good reasons to justify tax deductions on office equipment. This is due to the increasing demand for home office, for example, many can now justify an extra printer at home.  So we tend to get significant discounts to pass on to our clients.

So if you want to save some money on computer products now is a good time to buy.

During this pandemic, I think my company support staff and the IT industry, in general, has done a remarkable job in keeping our community going and functioning.  In challenging circumstances, they have provided quality professional service under some extraordinary conditions 24 x 7. 

We kept every single one of our clients open. As a result, the public got from our clients, newspapers from newsagents, medicine from its pharmacist, pet food from its pet shops, garden supplies, plumbing goods etc.

Snap lockdown - but for us it's still business as usual

POS SOFTWARE

This afternoon, Premier Daniel Andrews announced that Victoria would begin another five-day stage four lockdown from midnight tonight. Again because of problems in quarantine. Restrictions are here listed. If you need to know your shops or homes 5 KM radius click here.

This could not happen for our Victorian clients in a worse time, losing most of the trade with the Australian Open, Valentine's Day, the weddings, and functions now all delayed. It is another massive blow to our economy, which was starting to get back on its feet. Many are going to have stock that will need to be written off, who wants Valentine's Day stock after the day.
